Strange how people were afraid of bikers these days.
There were some motorcycle-gangs in Germany too in the late sixties and earlx seventies
- we call them "Rocker" in Germany - and sometimes (quite seldom actually) they entered a bar or
something alike and bashed the people inside (mostly because one of them had been thrown
out before), but actually nothing had really happened. Today, itīs not the wild young boys riding
around as they were about marauding the next town, but guys like us with a family, about 40+ of age,
trying again to loke wild, chasing for what we believe to have missed during our younger days...
There are some reports of motorcycle gang wars in northern Europe in the newspapers around here
in Germany, but Iīm convinced itīs exageration - any comments on that, Knud?
Today i took my son and one of his school friend to a steam-loco festival at Darmstadt. When we arrived
and parked our car, I saw a station wagon with a couple of bumper-stickers from the "Bones" (some gang
like Hells Angels - donīt know if they exist in the US) and other Chopper-related stuff. I was wandering,
because it wasnīt a truck where you can put a bike in. Having entered the railway museum, there was a guy
in a roller-chair, about 35 of age, wearing way cool sun-glasses, a "Bones"-t-shirt,
cruiser gloves etc. He had anaccident and will never walk or ride a bike again, but still dresses like
he just got off his bike a few minutes ago.
Ride safe, guys.
Armand
